If you go for digital cameras with a great zoom range then the Panasonic DMC-FZ18EB-K Digital Camera will be a pleasure to have as it boasts of an 18x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens. If you want to upgrade from a point and shoot camera to a more serious one then this camera is worth a try.
It boasts of the MegaOIS image stabilization system and a Venus Engine III processor. The DMC-FZ18EB-K Digital Camera is an improvement of the earlier 12x zoom FZ8 issue despite the lower 8.1 megapizel resolution but considering the classic SLR shape and a rubberized handgrip that will guarantee comfort for long pictorial hours and safety of your camera as well.
This long-zoom digital camera has a a 2.5 inches LCD screen display but unlike the FZ8, its image stabilizer feature is not accessible through a dedicarted button but through the menu. The Intelligent Auto Mode allows better photos as it inlcudes face detection, automatic scene selection, continuous auto focus and intelligent ISO control. While the settings may be fine for those who just want to point and shoot, this digicam however offers the advanced photographers to havfe more control of their photos.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 has a plastic body and has a USB/AV ports for convenience and maximum connectivity. However, any photographer who has to hurry up to get that perfects hot will rue the card slot of the FZ18 since it is unwittingly located in the battery compartment and does not have a separate card bay.
