Nikon Coolpix P5100 Point And Shoot Camera

Monday, July 28th, 2008

The Nikon Coolpix P5100 is a point and shoot camera which any beginning photographer would be delighted to have considering its manual and automatic controls. It’s really a simple camera that can provide your basic photography needs easily and efficiently.

The Coolpix 5100 has 12.1 megapixels and a 3.5x optical zoom which just matches the resolution of the camera so you can expect clearer shots. This is made possible by the optical image stabilization which will reduce camera blurs. It also has a movie mode that allows you to capture short videos with sound.

The problem with this camera is the quality of its LCD display when exposed to the sun. When you encounter that just use the optical viewfinder for previewing your shots or getting your subjects into focus.

The camera has a 52MB internal memory but you can opt for the SD Memory Card for extra storage.

At a starting price of $270, this Nikon digital camera is a cheap camera but do not really expect to get great photos or a camera with a lot of whistles. But it’s a good start .
