The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 and the DMC FS20 have almost the same style and features including a 10.1 megapixel resolution and a 30 to 120 mm wide angle zoon lens and 4x opticla lens that’s great for those who want to get shots up close and personal.

The camera includes a Lithium Ion battery pack which can take 300 shots per charge compared to the 280 shots in the FS20 and you have to thank the slightly smaller LCD of the FS5 for that.

One feature you willl surely look forward to is the Intelligent Scene Selector which automatically senses the environment when the shots are taken. Thus, your camera automatically chooses the appropriate mode for any photo including Portrait, Scenery, Night or Macro.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 is the third generation of the Travel Zoom Series following the TZ1 which was launched in 2006 and the TZ3 launched in 2007.  If you’re wondering, there is a TZ2 and a TZ4 in between but these are smaller models. The Lumix DMC TZ5 is a compact camera with a 10x optical zoom and a 28mm wide angle lens.

While the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ5 has the same features as the previous issues, this one has a greater sensor resolution of 9.1 MP compared to the previous 7.2 MP.   It also boasts of the Venus IV which is the latest generation imaging engine of Panasonic.

Toting the Lumix DMC TZ5 is not just toting a digital camera but in effect a videocam since this digicam has HD video capability, allowing the camera to capture videos with 1280×720 at 30fps resolution in a 16:9 format.

The Panasonic Lumix TZ5 Pocket Camera is a handy pocket camera with a small frame but it boasts of a 9.1 megapixel resolution, a 10x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom.
