Casio EXILIM EX-V7

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

digital7.jpg

The Casio Camera have not really made a big noise in the industry but the manufacture does have a good line of digital cameras starting with the Casio EXILIM EX-V7.  This camera is user-friendly, has a good auto focus and an intuitive menu structure.

This is a very compact camera but it is powered with 7x optical zoom.  It is a bit heavy though and might not fit a small pocket. It boasts of an image stabilizer as well as brightness control but you lose image quality when you zoom in maybe because of the too large optical zoom.

It sports a 2.5 inch display screen along with the controls on right side.  There is a universal tripod mount at the bottom while the memory card and the battery is on the side.

The best thing about this camera is that it starts easily and is ready to shoot photos immediately after you activate the controls.

Panasonic Lumix TZ5 Pocket Camera

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

digital6.jpg

The Panasonic Lumix TZ5 Pocket Camera is a handy pocket camera with a small frame but it boasts of a 9.1 megapixel resolution, a 10x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom.

Despite the large megapixel sensor, it has less image noise thanks to the Venue IV image processing engine.   The 28mm wide-angle lens is great for taking group photos and landscapes.

This digital camera is a point and shoot camera with no manual adjustments so you just have to rely on Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto Mode.  You can easily view your photos through the 3 inches LCD display screen.

The 13.6MP Sony Cybershot W300

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

digital5.jpg

The Titanium-coated casing of the Sony Cybershot W300 Coming Soonhas gained for this model that traditional camera look but without the fashion flair that most modern photographers (especially women) look for.

It is however a feature-packed camera with 13.6 megapixel resolution supported by a 3x optical zoom and a 3x digital zoom as well as other worthy-to-mention features like Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Recognition and the cool Smile Shutter feature which automatically takes photos when the subjects are smiling.

The higher resolution is attractive for those who want more details in their photos without being pixelized. Photos are in JPEG format, has a 15MB internal capacity plus a memory stick duo for more storage.

Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

The Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS is a compact camera with a  sleek and modern design. Canon IXUS cameras are a dime a dozen but they have never failed to impress consumers with their new models, including this model.

The Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS boasts of a 10 megapixel resolution with 3x optical zoom, PureColor LCD II, the Canon Optical Image Stabilizer and a completely flat operating pad.  The camera’s bottom is very useful as it hides the compartments and ports for a universal tripod, the memory card (there is a free 32 MB card) and the battery.

You can easily preview each photo thanks to the 3 inches LCD screen which delivers high resolution images.  However what I like best about this camera is its swift response time since it is up and ready to take photos in seconds after activation.

Fuji FinePix F100fd: A Simple Hi-Res Camera

Friday, April 18th, 2008

digital4.jpg

The Fuji FinePix F100fd is a simple camera but it will answer your needs if you require a digital camera with higher resolution.  At a price range of between $200 to $300, the 12.1 megapixel resolution of this camera is a good bargain.  It also produces crisp and much better images compared to the other cameras within its price range.

The Fuji FinePix F100fd has a 5x optical zoom lens and 8.2x digital zoom lens.  It also boasts of Continuous AF with Face Detection as well as Dual Image Stabilization features. It is capable of shooting in AVI Movie Mode with sound and the pics come in JPEF formats for easy transfer to the web.

The digicam is pretty heavy though at 170 grams sans memory media and battery and that’s  a pretty load to carry for those who bring their cameras everywhere they go.

Say Goodbye To Photo Irritants With Nikon D60

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Nikon D60 may be a newer model but it is definitely not a successor to the Nikon D40x.   And while it has retained some of the features of the D40x and the other entry level DSLR camera models like the 10.2 megapixel resolution.  However, it boasts of the technology present in the Nikon D300.

Enthusiasts will definitely welcome Nikon D60’s anti-dust system officially known as the Airflow Control System which minimized the need for editing. It also boasts of the eye-sensor feature which deactivates the LCD monitor once the viewfinder is used which means longer battery life.

It also has the auto and manual focus and auto and manual exposure plus an SD memory card for greater storage capability.
